HBO still have most of the top P4P fighters but I guess it wasn't so long ago that they could have whoever they wanted. Still a lot of great fights on HBO this year, but it's been a great year for boxing generally.

This part bothers me:
Â*Â*The evening’s main event, however, left a lot to be desired. Guillermo Rigondeaux settled for a 12-round shutout over a disinterested Joseph Agbeko, rather than going for just a little bit more for the sake of entertainment.
Why is the sole blame on Rigo? Rigo threw nearly 900 punches. When have we seen Rigo throw that many punches? He threw 600 vs Marroquin and 400 vs Donaire. Agbeko has never been stopped and he was just in there surviving. Maybe I'm just being bias cause I'm fan.

I bet if it was Donaire in there with Agbeko and Agbeko didn't do **** the turd would have landed on Agbeko and Donaire would have gotten praised but because the love affair of the fallen idol going on in here it reads like it does. Next time Rigo should instead of throwing 800 punches should try break the dude's legs.Comment

I didn't place blame on him. I said Agbeko was disinterested and later said that he didn't even give himself a million-to-one chance of being competitive, never mind winning. This part bothers me:

With Rigo, though, where any "blame" lies is not kicking the fight into a second gear. When the expected plays out three minutes into the fight, you hope for something different for the next 33 minutes of ring action (44 minutes in real time).
That's all I meant by it. Wasn't blaming him. He delivered a pair of brilliant performances this year. Just not aesthetically pleasing to all. I gave him more credit than most for his win over Donaire, for what it's worth. But he had the opportunity to do more on Saturday than "just" win. Fair point on his high output - but again, to be expected when the other guy is barely throwing back at all.Comment

I really enjoyed this article. I tend to agree with alot of the points. Lets hope showtime keeps up the pressure with great cards in 2013. They should allow TR to work with them if Bob wants to.
Hopefully Herscman will let his ego aside and bring GBP fighters back.
The point about th Fight Game was spot on. Its nothing more than the HBO propaganda machine. I guess you cant expect otherwise.Comment

I agree mostly but you know he didn't throw 900 punches, and thats coming from a Rigo fan. He threw about 400+ of those distracting pawing type jabs that he half extended his arm and had no intention of landing. For some reason they counted every one of those (which I feel like they don't usually). He didn't throw many actual punches but was very accurate and effective with them, he also didn't land 17% he landed at a way higher percentageThis part bothers me:

My bad man, I'm just a little annoyed. I wasn't saying it's just you blaming Rigo but a lot of people are.Originally posted by JakeNDaBoxQuote:

I know he threw a lot of pawing jabs but you could tell Rigo was actually trying to make something happen in this fight cause he was actually throwing a full jab at times.Originally posted by vman075Quote:
