A soft touch to get the Cubans excited again would suffice.

Because no one ever asks what the "Black" is in a "Black and ginger." lol It's like asking what the "Jack" is in a "Jack & Coke" (Jack Daniel's) or what the "Seven" is in a "7 & 7" (Seagram's 7 and 7-Up).

Maybe 25% were Pinoys and the rest were there to support some of the other fighters. There was a small but noticeable Cuban contingent there, of which I was a part.

If they hold a properly stacked card anywhere in South Florida, never mind the Miami area, there will be plenty of Latinos attending, not just Cubans. You don't think they can muster 3,000 Cubans and a combination of three thousand Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Mexicans, Filipinos, etc? And we're not just talking about male fight fans. Some bring their ladies, too. A decent-sized venue can fill up quick with the proper promotion.
honestly no .. i've been to all solid to big events boxing in miami and i say you looking at low 4,000 range unless the promotion which i doubt be big is huge with a big name next to rigo .. but there is none ....i remember nate campbell vs ali funeka with sergio martinez cintorn as undercard sunrise florida did horrible **** was no more than 3 g with tickets given out for free! lol ... for rigo i'm looking at 4 gs not anymore than that but once again i wish i'm wrong but miami is not great unless it's donaire vs rigo but we all know that won't happen

Wassup, bro? You think a solid card featuring Rigo can haul in as many people as we saw at Radio City?

It's been a while so I had to ask to make sure lol. Everyone knows jack and coke. Tbh I never heard of Black label and ginger. I usually do my liquor straight. So I'm not too familiar with these drinks.

4k in attendance is a success compared to his 20 in AC. Haha

I'm not doubting you, but Campbell-Funeka doesn't sound particularly appealing to the local demographic, and that was before Sergio became known. No one ever really cared about Cintron, either.

I'm thinking of something along the lines of Rigo as the headliner; Gamboa (whose promoter, 50 Cent, does business with TR); and at least one other Cuban fighter, like Santana (still promoted by Don King, I believe). The rest of the card can feature prospects from other Latin American lands, like Felix Verdejo (Top Rank).

If it's handled properly, I believe it will sell. And, by the way, the truth is that free tickets are handed out to every event, not just boxing. I'm taking that into consideration, as well.
