I can't believe people that cover the sport for s living forgot about Rigo and Stevenson.

2 of the main 5 candidates. Glad to see them added but there is no excuse for that. Clearly they need to fix whatever system is in place.

How does what he said change what he did in he ring this year or affect whether he is nominated for FOTY?

Kovalev beat Campillo (Who got clearly robbed against Cloud) and he beat Cleverly (who was undefeated WBO champ who beat Bellew). Stevenson beat Dawson to win the titles, but he was coming off a brutal loss to Ward. Still, beating Dawson is a big accomplishment.

Personally I would go with Tim Bradley. Because I think Marquez is the best opponent anyones faced this year. Bradley also beat Provodnikov, who just earned a title which should increase his stock even more.
Yeah, any of Stevenson, Kovalev or Bradley would be cool with me, I can even see Rigo as he possibly had the best win of all.

He makes the best case. 4 fights, took control of the division, all in dominant fashion.

I'd love to give it to Bradley but he sat on the ropes too many times against Ruslan. Rigo, unfortunately, only fought twice. If it was against 2 elite opponents sure, he wins but it is what it is.

Its obviously the Secret HBO-Golovkin propaganda machine at work

Its not a secret. Its in full display on "Fight Game"-GGG is top 5 p4p according to Lampley. What a joke!

Obviously this is me speculating and I can't prove my theory unless some other facts become available. But I just find it funny that GGG was on initial list and steveson wasn't given what I posted a month ago.

Adonis or Kovalev get my vote, it was fun watching them this year.

He may not make the best case in his division. Two of Stevenson's best wins this year were against guys who lost to Campillo and Cleverly. Dawson was coming off being weight drained and brutalized. That was not the Chad Dawson people seem to wish it was. Kovalev's slaughters this year may be better.

Compared to white washing Donaire and Agbeko, there is no comparison. Floyd had a better year than Stevenson with the way he beat Guerrero and Alvarez. Bradley is more arguable, but beating Marquez is a huge win that Stevenson can't compare with. Provodnikov looks much better after beating Alvarado as well.

Stevenson's year is being severely overrated. He didn't beat guys who were very good.

At least Golovkin looks like he can back up the hype, unlike recent propaganda-hype jobs such as Berto.

Without some hype, a dangerous "high risk-low reward" fighter like Golokin (or Kovalev) would NEVER get any big/meaningful fights and you know that.

As a boxing fan- He looks like he has the goods- if he wasn't being hyped on HBO, other fighters would use the high risk low reward/no mlney/not a big name excuse not to fight him... So what's wrong with a little hype?
