Nah. It wasn't 50-50. Believe me, I was one of the few leaning towards Rigo, and most people thought he was too chinny and was going to get KTFO, or at least it seemed that's what most people thought. Some people even went so far as to say he had holes in his defense (because of people like Marroquin hitting him once or twice).
Rigondeaux is clearly Fighter of the Year

Every time people say this I end up posting the poll. Do I really have to do so again?Nah. It wasn't 50-50. In my honest opinion, it is between Mikey Garcia and/or Golovkin. They have had truly amazing perfomances, breakout year while doing so in impressive action packed fashion.
Against who? And Rigo hasn't been booed in "most of his fights". Stop lying.

When did voting on this poll end?
Here's one:
Almost 61% Donaire by KO and almost 12% Donaire by decision. Another poll showing a closer gap because everyone voted "Rigo by decision" after he won doesn't matter, ya know what I mean?
If this is what you're referring to, that's cool, but it's still 60-40 and not 50-50. That's closer than I remember it, though.Last edited by samouraļ; 12-08-2013, 05:09 PM.Comment

This was the biggest one, and the one I was talking about. Forgot that it ballooned to 58-42 Donaire on fight week, before that it was 50-50.When did voting on this poll end?

Couple things though, man. First, I'd say people are more likely to vote their opinion rather than say it, which is why it seemed more than 60-40 Donaire around here. Also, that poll isn't closed even today, so people could vote on it even now and make it look like Rigo had more support. Hell, I just voted. This was the biggest one, and the one I was talking about. I don't see how Mayweather's not at least in the running.
His win over Guererro is at least as good as Rigondeaux's win over Agbeko and Bradley's over Ruslan.
Then he has Canelo in which is a fight the vast majority said he'd avoid and a very dangerous fight in which he was vastly outweighed.
Guererro and Canelo both were Top 3 (The Ring) in the fight class being fought in. Rigondeaux and Bradley's second tier wins were unranked at the weight being fought in and not amongst the top 5 in the weight class they were ranked in.
Mayweather's obviously at least in the discussion, IMO.Comment

I'll agree about Guerrero, but Alvarez is where Floyd loses it. Yes it's the fight we wanted and I'm not going to take his credit now, but Alvarez was not a comparable win to Rigo over Donaire. After last night and Lara's ass whipping of Trout, Alvarez looks even worse after having such a close fraud of a fight with Trout. Rigo's wins are just better.I don't see how Mayweather's not at least in the running.

I think Bradley should be well ahead as well since he was the underdog against Marquez.Comment

It would be ****** to say "trust me" when I could just be saying that to make my case, but it was 50-50 until fight week. I remember being very surprised by it.Couple things though, man.
