Khan backed out of the fight with Alexander. If he had defeated Alexander Khan would be a 147 champ and a worthy opponent for Floyd. Beating Diaz, the #38 welterweight by Boxrec in a close fight at a catchweight of 143 does not earn him a shot at Mayweather no matter how you spin it. He is getting the Mayweather fight because he is low risk high reward.Comment

He also dominated Diaz on the rematch so.....And you thought Alexander was a worthy opponent for Khan or Mayweather?
Don't say I didn't warn you..
There are a few people on the site who know what they're talking about.. See above I was right, see below I was right. And again I'll be right about Mayweather vs Khan being a must-see fight.. It's time you jump on board.Comment

He admitted as much himself in the commentary. Really poor decision, he would definitely have beaten Devon (not that it means much to me cos I think Alexander is woeful), had a belt, and gone into the Mayweather fight with at least a little momentum and credibility (though again, beating Devon doesn't make you a great in my eyes).
Instead, he's being fed to Mayweather after not even being trusted by GBP to beat Alexander.Last edited by Porter's Dad; 12-08-2013, 12:53 AM.Comment

It's shameful that Khan ducked Devon. That could have been Amir up there becoming the new champion and gaining some respect.Comment

He didn't dominate but he did win, lets not overlook the fact it took him 2 tries to get the better of Diaz whereas Khan beat Diaz the first time around. Porter had already been in the ring with him, had experience with his style so it's always easier the second time around.
On top of that, Diaz wasn't even motivated that much in the rematch, I heard he slacked in training whereas against Khan he trained to the best of his ability.Comment
