Oh please, some fans are too soft. He stopped it at the right time. After he warned Tapia he came up with a little run and hurt Kirkland. This is called the fight game, I've seen extraordinary comebacks. I love refs that give the fighters every chance to be able to fight back up until they got nothing left. Stoppage was perfect.

Stoppage was not perfect! When he stopped it he should have stepped in holding Kirkland back and not half-assed. Smoger left Tapia open for an unnecessary hit.

should of stopped the fight 2 rounds ago.Also his corner should of stopped it.They knew from the look of their fighter he was done but they still sent him out.

The doctor said to stop it if he takes more punches to his head, his corner said they were gonna stop it if he continued to take more punches. They warned the boxer, the doc warned the ref and the ref did exactly like he was told by the doc. No matter what smoger did Mandingo was going for the finish and very focused on taking his head off, it was just part of what happens sometimes in a heated exchange. James only saw a wounded gazelle, and smoger just couldnt do much more than he did.

Smoger may be getting a little old, he let an undercard fight earlier go on a little more than it should and should of stopped in a knockdown earlier.. the kid was hurt by the 1st and most definitely for the 2nd.

Young careers too, I think they both had less than 10 fights
