Didn't have the greatest resume, but I respect him for not staying at home with his belt like other champs and being the people's hero.

Also, I always respect a man who rises from poverty to do all this

You know that the Marquez fight wasn't a robbery because he Marquez didn't cry as much as he usually does. I mean every time a decision goes against him he goes into denial, and the Bradley fight was just ridiculous. Nacho was telling him that he was winning

I thought Cotto could easily have lost his fight with Clottey as well. Cotto is a good and very popular fighter but his is not undefeated. Not even close.
hmmm i'm pretty sure cotto is in fact undefeated

From a skill stand point, he was very good. A very skilled boxer

But he's not going to be remembered favorably. When his name gets brought up people will first mention that he only fought in Indonesia, and only fought against bums. Then they'll remember the Marquez fight, which was controversial (I did think John won, but it could have went to Marquez easily).

why would he cry? "oh i was robbed vs chris john!" then people would say "who the hell is chris john?" it was better just to forget about it and not bring it up because no one even noticed or cared. he was back fighting pac the next year anyway while chris john was fighting tba. gary russel's old nemesis.

You don't need to go from one extreme to another. The Marquez fight was neither a robbery or a clear victory for John, just an extremely close fight with a lot of swing rounds. Unfortunately ruined by two **** point deductions.

John was a good boxer but that's it. Fifty odd title defenses don't mean a damn thing against mostly soft opposition.

Of his 20 title fights (I'm including the interim WBA)
He fought outside Indonesia 10 times.

out of his 20 title fights only 3 were against to 10 guys and juarez was only ranked based on the gift draw he got in the first fight against john. enoki also lost 4 out of his next 5 so yeah he ******. if floyd or roy jones traveled to fight unranked bums you would be happy? look here's roy jones destroying a bum in estonia! oh now he's destroying a bum in bolivia! bums around the world beware!
