I'm a Hopkins fan but I don't wanna see him face (beat) either of these guys until they face each other. It would spoil the fun of this Kovalev/Stevenson match-up.

Hopkins is a secondary Titlist with veteran emeritus status in my book. When someone says that he is ducking Kovalev, my response is that he doesn't owe the boxing world any particular match-up. The fact that he is still here is enough. These two younger guys need to face off and then he can risk himself one more time and try to unify.

I think it could really boost Hopkins legacy if he beats the kovalev/stevenson winner...

I disagree. It may seem that way now that the iron is hot.

But in hindsight once the dust settles and the temporary bandwagon hype goes away, the revisionist outlook will be no better than beating Tito Trinidad or Kelly Pavlik (and I realize those two wins have their specific asterisks, i.e. blown up welterweight Tito, Middleweight Pavlik moving up to 170). Because after all, who are these two guys resume wise? They're nobodies, they're upstarts. If they don't produce wins for the next half decade or more, history will treat them not much differently than a Jeff Lacy.

We should make a poll. For the life of me I can't believe anyone wants to see Hopkins-Stevenson over Stevenson-Kovalev
