The trainer does not matter. Khan's problem cannot be fixed by a trainer. He's a very good boxer all on his own, with a bad chin. There's nothing Hunter, Roach, or any trainer could do to solve Khan's punch resistance issues.

Roach was great with Khan, just whenever he lost he would blame someone other than himself, Virgil Hunter is taking away his best tools. Roach made him sharp and quick, from what I have seen of Khan with Hunter he is anything but sharp and quick.

Khan does need direction, he needs strategy, he can't think by himself in the ring and I think Roach's technique worked by bringing out the best in Khan's strengths. Something Hunter hasn't been able to do yet which seems to have left Khan's weaknesses even more exposed, we'll see what he comes up with for his next fight.

Kahn lost two in a row with Roach.... I'll go eith Hunter for now. Roach had Kahn looking good when he was attacking but that it. Kahn cant overwhelm everyone and if its one thing many criticize Roach for its his fighters often lack of a plan B. Its..attack..attack...attack... No defense? Thats cool, you got a chin. Except Kahn missed the good chin memo lol

Actually, I think that Virgil Hunter is bad for Khan's neck problems because Virgil never comes in the ring in between rounds. Between rounds, Khan needs to twist his delicate neck for 60 seconds and listen to Virgil ..... not good!

I think Roach's style would be more suited to beating Floyd, but it really doesn't matter. Both are great trainers in different ways, and neither one can really help what's wrong with Khan, he's picked up too many bad habits he's never fixed and his chin is too weak. The only question in this farce of a matchup is whether or not Floyd will be able to stop Khan even with his safety-first style(I vote yes).

He needs too. Mayweather will KO him early if he dont. Roach gives him that offensive instinct and edge. Hes done nothing but hesitate with Hill. Sure he survived the distance with Diaz but not with out looking like crap. He may help him survive but wont help him win.

The Khan who fought Paulie with Roach would give a decent account of himself vs Floyd.
