It's been a brilliant year for boxing. The only concern I have is does this make the promoters/networks divide more permanent? Everyone seems to have done well this year, fans especially. Is there any incentive for the warring factions to end this ****** split?

Instead they should "feed" them, either go:

Stevenson vs Froch OR Stevenson vs Hopkins
Kovalev vs Hopkins OR Kovalev vs Froch

      OR/THEN

Stevenson vs Ward OR Stevenson vs Kessler
Kovalev vs Kessler Or Kovalev vs Ward

[They have atleast *Ward* - *Kessler* - *Froch* - *Hopkins*]

We could even add *Bute* - *Pascal* in the mix if Stevenson or Kovalev were to lose their next fight to build them right back up and face one of the fours.

In hope they would K.O their opponents to get an even greater boost in ratings.

(If everything goes according to the plan)

Finally get Stevenson vs Kovalev for the end of the year 2014 or early/mid 2015.
Thing is, chances like this sometimes never present themselves again. If Stevenson gets beat after this or Kovalev, the fight loses the attractive appeal it has now. I remember when Juanma Lopez was knocking people left and right and the fight with Gamboa was so desirable by fans... but it didn't happen, time went by and it just completely lost every bit of appeal it once had. Same with Pacquiao-Mayweather in 2009.

Boxing is all about momentum and timing, and jumping on chances when you get them.

Excellent point. Hadn't considered this. Now I'm worried.

Stevenson v Kovalev is the fight I want to see most in boxing right now, this is the fight to make at 175.
