      Obviously, Arum didn't rely on PPV sales to get paid for the fight. The Macau investors paid for the whole event. It's a gamble on the investors' part. If they did, they probably only need 100K to break even. Therein lies the difference between these promoters and networks. Showtime had to come up with 1M PPV to break even. That's why the PPV number is meaningless if the bottom line is a negative. Look at the Guerrero debacle.

        The PPV benchmark is not just about revenue; it's equally, or even more so about how many botherered about the fight sufficiently to want to pay for - and watch it anyways.
