That was an awful fight by both fighters. Neither fighter should be proud of that one.

The better boxer however was Canelo. Canelo landed the more significant punches at much higher accuracy. He won the fight and the reason it was close was because of Canelo's poor conditioning, he took rounds off. If Canelo was better conditioned in that fight he would have wiped out Trout.

Trout is not very skilled or impressive. He's just high volume. Has no power at all. Poor accuracy. Throws punches and hits the air. He just outworks his opponents. He's no Margarito, he's not going to eat punches left and right he has some defense. But he's not a skilled technician or anything.

This fight will likely be ugly because Trout will realize he can't box with Lara so he'll be trying to clinch up and rough him up on the inside. If he boxes he's going to get knocked out.

huge fan of both guys but lara takes this in a very close fight, the scorecards will most likely be all over the place with a SD or somthing

Trout's skill level looked pretty good against Cotto.

I think Trout is really underestimating Lara. Not good for him

I think a Lara win would be better for boxing. It creates an opponent for the likes of Floyd, Canelo, and Cotto at 54. And Lara has expressed a desire to go up to 60 and fight Martinez. So if that's the case, it could create a potential opponent for GGG as well.

True. I think Lara would beat up GG and Canelo

Ahhh, I don't know abou that. He has a pretty good reach advantage against Canelo. So I suspect that he could do a lotta the same things Floyd has success doing. Only problem is is that's he's not as good as Floyd defensively and I don't know if he chin could hold up when Canelo lands.

As for GGG, I don't think Lara makes it six rounds. I think he can outbox GGG for awhile. But he doesn't hit hard enough to keep GGG off him. And whenhe attempts to move. GGG cuts the ring off beautifully. And if he can't deal with Angulo's power. He's not gonna handle GGG's.

Landy showed heart versus Williams, too. He fought with a gigantic hematoma on his head and still managed to win the fight, although he was robbed on the cards.

Did he miss the Paul Williams fight where Lara fought with the biggest knot on his head? Did he miss the Molina fight where he fought thru a tooth infection? Did he miss the Vanes fight where he fought with an injured right hand? And lastly, did he miss the Angulo fight?

I've heard and read all kinds of stuff about Lara's ailments before and during fights. If half of them are true, he's one tough son of a bit ch.
The broken hand thing was said by his trainer not Lara. I don't see why they would lie. And remember Lara was not throwing his lead right hook in that fight either.

This will be a fabolous chess-match! One of those fights you want to see live, but not after you know the result.
