Comments Thread For: Darren Barker in Top Form and Ready To Topple Sturm

DARREN BARKER is ready to jump all over Felix Sturm on Saturday – after training on a trampoline. The Londoner makes a first defence of his IBF world middleweight belt against local hero Sturm in Stuttgart, Germany.

Barker, 31, does not do any road work in training due to hip injuries so instead gets fighting fit on the trampoline, in the swimming pool and by doing yoga. [Click Here To Read More]

Trampoline, eh? Novel idea. I'm currently fooked and not able to run at all due to worsening shin splints in one leg throughout the year, so I'm looking for different methods of cardio besides the boring (and extremely clunky) stationary bike and elliptical. Might give that trampoline lark a try if I can find one...

Oh, and all the best to Barker on his defence. Sincerely hope he beats that fucker! :box2:

Hopefully we get some fair judging for this one, I have my doubts.

The way British judging has gone so far this year, I won't exactly be upset if Barker gets robbed seeing as he chose to fight in Germany.

This is a lose lose for boxing fans either the title stays with barker and the ****show that is matchroom and british boxing or it goes back to germany with sturm held captive again. Either way we won't see golovkin get a crack at it

Barker has plenty heart, but I don't rate him as a boxer. I give Sturm a good chance of turning him over.

I hope Barker wins. He is a cool guy. Don't like Sturm for some reason lol.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it was the american judges who gave ricky burns his gift. Also I don't blame the fighters so yeah I would be upset for barker if he is jobbed out there.

This fabled 'rematch' clause doesn't mean a thing either.

British judges are fine. British refs are awful, as are American judges. But it's a Sturm fight, so anything can happen in regards to the scores
