When Zab became the man at 147, Carlos knocked him off the thrown. Floyd then came in and beat the both of them, then Margarito went on to get beatdown by a no name who later became Paul Williams.
But but but Arum said he was the "most feared fighter in the world."

BTW, do refute the ranking, cause its bull****.

Larry needs to be calling out the entire heavyweight division, not guys who have proven they're willing to get in the ring with the best.

floyd fought sharmba mitchell. was sharmba mitchell ranked #1? no margarito was.

floyd fought zab judah. was zab judah ranked #1? no margarito was.

then he retired when cotto and margarito were dominating the division. he had plenty of chances to fight margarito. he wasn't just waiting around for super fights. he was waiting around in cherry picker mode.
Do you think that just because you keep repeating "Margarito was #1" it makes it true? The lineage of the welterweight title that Floyd is currently holding can be traced back to the first Mosley-DLH fight. The lineage has never been broken. Which means there's always been a legitimate "top guy" in the division for about 15yrs. Margarito never held the title. So WTF do you keep screaming "he was #1" for when its clear you have no clue WTF you're talking about.

As for Floyd ducking this clown. Floyd hit the welterweight division around 06. I think Margarito lost to Santos in 05. Why was Floyd obligated to fight a guy rebuilding from a lossopposed to fighting the champ? Then, I believe around 07, Margarito lost to Williams. That's. When Floyd was fighting guys like DLH and Hatton in major PPV events. Exactly why was he supposed to fight a guy that has just gotten his ass kicked by a prospect, opposed to the mega events he was in? And then in Floyd's "retirement" Margarito got demo'd by Mosley, which made Mosley the top guy. Floyd fought him.

So at the end of the day, what you're talking about is 100% bull****. And just because y keep repeating it, doesn't make it any less bull****.

Larry Merchant doesn't have Mayweather on HBO to be mad at anymore so he's turning his attention on Ward and threw Stevenson in there for good measure. Maybe Ward and Stevenson should have just said they'll leave it up their promoters and Larry Merchant to decide who they'll fight next.

how about this if a random journeyman beat stevenson, then ward moved up and beat that bum, then he never fought kovalev, that would be a great win? ward would be a great fighter for doing that? it's called cherry picking.
Baldomir was the number 1 ranked fighter at welterweight and was the undisputed champ at Welterweight at the time. And he had way better wins then Margarito at the time. And he had the same style as Margarito and had natural power unlike Margarito who was loading his gloves up.
