Top Rank preferred to have Donaire fight a phenom in Rigondeaux for around $1-1.5M instead of having him fight on a GBP card against Mares (where Nonito would've been the betting favorite) for $3M. It's been clear to me that Bob Arum wants nothing to do with GBP without there being heavy incentive.

Why would you be willing to believe that crap coming from Schaefer when Mare's, who is far more exciting than Rigondeux, highest earning so far was a mere $300K when he fought Ponce for the May/Alvarez undercards.

This crap about GBP treating their fighters better than TR's is a mere myth. Schaefer just threw Lara under the bus recently when he said he's difficult to sell. He criticized Rigo and Gamboa as well for being unexciting to watch. You could easily tell that these Cubans will not do well with GBP.

Last I remember TR works with other promoters. When was the last time GBP has?

They work with goosen when Mitchell fought arreola and when maidan fought with josesito Lopez, idk who trouts promoter is but it's one of the small one. GNP works with goosen dibella, shaw and other smaller promoters like Thompson, warrior and banner all the time

gbp does treat its fighters better. they paid Robert guerrero 1 million dollars for the berto fight. they paid danny Garcia 1.5 million for the matthysse fight. they paid malignaggi 1 million dollars for the broner fight. top rank would never hand out those type of paydays too those fighters. and lara being a tough sell is a fact. and bob arum said the same thing about rigodeaux being a tough sell, so whats your point?

If he can use them he will, if it is not advantageous to him he won't.




Not like GBP is trying to put over Top Rank guys either, that is one of the main issues between the sides neither wants to let the other get over. It would be nice if they could work something out but that really isn't being real because the way boxing works.
