I really hope his knee is ok . It would suck for him to have yet another setback . He had such a tough road to get where he is and now with all the injuries, Damnnnnn!!!!

Cotto needs to cash out now and fight Canelo.Becuse if you dont your going to lose no matter what if you fight Martinez and make peanuts compaired to the 10 million offered by Canelo, plus when you do lose to Martinez, you wont be getting that offer of 10 Million from Canelo or anybody else for that fact.

That might be why the wait is taking so long. Waiting on the status of Martinez' knee injury.

154 is too high for Cotto. 160 is insane and if Martinez is half the fighter he was Cotto will get stopped. Sergio will be the biggest puncher Cotto has ever faced and similar movement to the guy who beat the crap out of him with hand speed and foot movement (Pac). It's all wrong for him. Canelo is a more winnable fight. Canelo has never fought a guy who can **** to the body just as well if not better than he can and Canelo is so slow on his feet. I still think Canelo's size advantage gets him a close win in the end but I think it would be a great fight that would keep both fighters relevant.

If MC wins I can already hear the excuses.... oh Miguel beat a one legged fighter! To which I will reply--since Cotto destroyed his right collarbone in an accident 12 years ago and has since then become a one armed fighter isn't it fair game then?

And then Martinez would still win the handicap battle as he's also one armed :/... Cotto hurt his collarbone 12 years ago (clearly its better now)... Where as Martinez hurt his left hand early in his career which was allegedly an almost career ending injury (have you seen it? He has like 3 ninja turtle knuckles)...he's also hurt his hand in his last two fights!! He's also older. >__>.... Martinez is probably the only dude competing at a high level with more wear than Cotto. Except he's kept winning. I absolutely love Cotto but no way you believe that if Martinez is anywhere near okay that Cotto stands a chance of seeing the 12th.

Last I heard Sergio is still pool ridden which hopefully changes in the coming months.

The bone may have healed some, but Cotto himself has mentioned still feeling occasional pains in that shoulder which is why I assume he doesn't feel inclined to throw the right as often. In recent years, he's undergone surgery to remove scar tissue from the damaged areas but you're right Martinez is missing a knuckle in one fist :l
Martinez' one armededness(?) must not be THAT much of a factor however, if he's able to KO Williams with it and put plenty of other guys down shooting just his straight.. Didn't know about him hurting his hands though but I understand Mayweather suffers from similar problems. I think they both have about the same amount of mileage honestly. I don't understand how people can insist this fight is a mismatch. In their respective primes perhaps but at the moment it's a toss up imo

COTTO fought everybody and if MARTINEZ will be another name on his record,i believe he has the best list in the game behind MANNY,not forgetting he gave the toughest fight of JUNIOR's carrer when he was shot like JUNIOR said before they met!!!
