If a deal gets finalized, former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) would face WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) in the main event of an HBO Pay-Per-View on June 7th in New York's Madison Square Garden, according to Carlos Narvaez. Sources close to the situation have told Narvaez that Cotto prefers the New York venue to stage that fight.

Canelo will be lucky to have one PPV next year and it will need a great undercard.

Cotto-Martinez for the MW championship of the world. I told everyone this was the fight they were gonna make. Dictating to Cotto only annoyed and pissed him off. Canelo-Molina live on PPV What a joke.

I LOVE this! Love the fight, love the arena and the significance of this event for Cotto. Seriously thinking about making the trip to NYC for this. Cotto has the perfect momentum and his confidence is where it needs to be before a fight of this magnitude. Canelo will be available for the next 5 years, Martinez will not; so this is a smart choice for Cotto.

If Cotto does go with Martinez in June. We are going to have 4 PPV's in a row Canelo in March. Pac in April. May in May . Cotto vs Martinez in June. If Canelo does fight Molina in March GBP is going to have to stack that under card or no one is going to buy that PPV.

Can't blame cotto for wanting it at msg after seeing the tough loss Martin Murray took in Argentina . I like this fight . We've never seen cotto at 160 . But I also wouldn't mind seeing cotto/alverez at somtime .

I'll be streaming canelo, pac, and may. I can't miss Cotto vs Sergio live in NYC though.

Why doesn't Cotto just take both fights?
