Has Hopkins ever faced a puncher like that? I know he's faced big punchers but Kovalev's power seems on another level again.

He hasn't for a while that's for sure.

I just think Hopkins is too savvy to get knocked out but you never know the guy's 50 years old.

he was stopped several times in the amateurs. he's never looked durable to me in his fights, and physically he's never appeared to be a durably built man.

Did you see how many shots he took before getting stopped by Grachev? That's the kind of fights that destroys your punch resistance. Build means nothing, Paul Williams didn't look durable either.

That's the thing about Kovalev.

From what I see, he cuts off the ring, has good skills, good jab and ridiculous power.

He does have some flaws that people can exploit but he seems to equalize it.

He's one of my favourite guys right now I've been following him and while and he's been doing everything right so far.

Destroyed Campillio, Cleverly and Sillakh.

Only thing to consider is two of those don't have good chins and the other has a quite unproven chin. Something to consider.

I don't think he cuts off the ring that well actually. But he has good timing and he's very dynamic.

I don't know man. Hop can be caught and if he gets caught by a Kovalev right, I don't like the odds that Hop can take more than one or two of those. I'd like to say that Hop will just "out-veteran" him but I think Kovalev's timing will be a huge issue.

Definitely possible at Hopkins age.

Hopkins will have success though I believe. It's a fight I'd like to see to be honest.

Although I feel it's a weak division there's a few fights I'd like to see.

Hell, I'd even like to see Kovalev-Dawson myself.

I thought he cut it off very well against Campillio and Cleverly albeit Cleverly wasn't hard to find.

Had some issues in the first round today but found him soon enough.
