This piece of history may tell Mayweather will fall in 2014

Roy Jones, pound-for-pound best 10 years ago, when it was announced he's gonna fight WBA heavyweight champion John Ruiz, people are predicting Ruiz is gonna rough him up and beat him, the size difference and outweight by more than 30 pounds, Roy put on a sensational show, dominated the bigger man and everyone was hailing RJJ as the best ever, what happen next, Jones barely won over Tarver and got knockout twice the following year.

Manny Pacquiao, when he fought Miguel Cotto in 2009, Pacman is fighting someone more dangerous than Dela Hoya and Hatton, promoter Bob Arum even joke on Manny to stay away from Cotto in one of his post-fight interview before, Pacquiao had his most impressive victory against Cotto and lay a claim that Mayweather must fight him, but from there, Pacman has never scored a knockout win again, and could have lost to Marquez in their third fight in 2011.

Mayweather's last fight against Canelo, other than Pacquiao, Alvarez is viewed as the biggest threat to May's unbeaten record, and Floyd responded with yet another dazzling performance, just like Jones win over Ruiz and Pacquiao's win over Cotto, they turned a most satisfying win against opponents given a shot to beat them, and after their signature victory, were never the same again, will these give hope to Amir Khan fans if Khan gets to face Mayweather next year.

I say this...he's good at making soft touches look like legit threats. Marquez and Guerrero comes to mind in that instance.

Didn't two months ago, the boxingscene threads were flooded with Canelo a 50/50 chance of beating Mayweather, and the brother of Saul Alvarez was quoted how he looks at Floyd so scared when they first face off.

Cherry Picker will never fight an opponent that has a big chance of beating him, is that what you call a Pound for Pound best?

What does BS speculation have to do with a fighters worth? Great performance by Floyd against Canelo, no doubt, but his signature victory was and always will be against De La Hoya(Pac fight ain't happening)... Now they say DLH was washed up, but at least he wasn't green and to date DLH has been the only fighter at 154 to compete against Floyd... Even Cotto got shut out and he busted Money's face...

its pretty pathetic that his signature win was against a washed up, part time fighter who was in his mid 30s.
