Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez Expects To Be in Top Form in 2014

The WBC gave middleweight champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez until December 15th to give a status update about his improving health situation, plus when he will be ready to return to fight, and things are looking up. Martinez suffered several injuries after winning a close twelve round decision over undefeated Martin Murray this past April in Argentina. The mandatory challenger to Martinez's title is Marco Antonio Rubio. Sergio is recovering in Madrid where he currently lives.

I really hope he is able to return to top form (or close to it). There are big fights waiting for him in 2014.

Go get in great condition, beat your mandantory then either hand over the title to GGG or get ready for the worst beating of your life.

man I like Sergio but he will get a brutal beating if he fights GGG in 2014. A 2009 Sergio Martinez vs present GGG would be a much much different story though.

Good luck to Sergio Martinez, I wish him the best he's always a standup guy and a great fighter. Looking forward to seeing him inside the ring in 2014 and hoping that all his injuries will rest in the past.
