That was the only time I ever saw a referee endanger a fighter more by stopping a fight. Groves was defending himself fine, then the ref grabbed him by the neck and spun him around, allowing Froch to get a clean shot to the ribs.

Also, when Froch was knocked down, the ref completely turned his back and walked Groves to a neutral corner. Had he been looking at Froch, he would have seen him stagger back into the ropes, hurt way more than Groves ever was.

Terrible ref.
