Comments Thread For: Mayweather Sr: Beating Rios Don't Get You a Floyd Fight!

Floyd Mayweather Sr., father and trainer of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs), said Manny Pacquiao's dominating victory over Brandon Rios is not enough to earn him the biggest fight in the sport. Pacquiao returns on April 12, while Mayweather is back on May 3. He says Pacquiao looked very good in the contest, last Saturday night in Macau, but attributes the impressive performance to Rios' stylistic flaws. Mayweather Sr. says he expected a lot more from Rios.

I see where he's coming from, Manny should've returned against Julio Diaz if he was serious about making the Floyd fight.

Well if your camp enjoys getting $70 million plus bout checks you don't have many options left..sad to say but true. Short of Floyd moving up on some wild shh there isn't anyone at 140 or 147 that's going to really pull in crazy numbers needed for them kinda numbers he wants and likes. That factor more than anything is probably going to lead to both men getting a ridiculous offer to make this fight.
