Zou Shiming and progresion

I liked the improvements I saw from him. It looks like he's trying to ditch the amateur style and throw more punches. You can tell his main objective was to give an exciting fight. He used angles and dominated his opponent. The problem for him will be the titleholders in his division. I just can't see him beating Estrada or Gonzalez. I don't even see him winning against Melindo.

The best option for Shiming is to continue to fight decent opposition in the same crowd pleasing style he used on Saturday.

Flyweight i pretty deep, top 10 all have chamionship experience.
If one doesn't open up, I think he should move up

But yea, looked a lot better relative to his first two.
I think the Manny sparring helped him and if he keeps fighting like that, people in China will only associate boxing with all out action.

Roach made him an offensive beast, which is alien to amateur boxers. His stamina and power improved in last week's fight and he's learning to control how he uses energy. I didn't see his first fights, but he was a little unstable in his previous fight prior to last week's. He was breathing hard at the end of the last round and clearly trying to please Roach by fighting like an offensive machine. Age is the only thing that could stop this guy from getting better and better.

On another note, I'm starting to like Shiming. He is very candid about his upbringing. I would never admit that my mom tried to raise me like a girl lol. Now he's out to prove that he's a man's man. Something tells me he has a lot of heart and wouldn't quit in the ring.

he's only sparred four rounds with manny. it's obviously helping, but that's not the only thing that he's been doing to improve in camp. in training for that fight, freddie would be involved mostly with manny. his little pinoy assistant has done a great job in freddie's absence.


shiming looked very improved in the first few rounds of his fight, but he did slow down later in the fight. the kid was probably so pumped to be fighting in front of another huge chinese crowd that he didn't pace himself well. it's his thrid pro fight. these are the things you learn/

shiming has good handspeed, and i love watching hiim grinning when he fights. i'm a hell of a lot more optimistic about his career after his last fight. his smiling during the entirety of the fight was f#cking awesome

He definitely impressed me. Don't get me wrong he still needs a lot of improvement but he seemed to be in control a lot more. He can get a little careless in there and he can't afford to cause it seems like he doesn't have much power. I hope they can tighten up his defense.
