I don't think Mike Perez was brought in to lose at all. Remember the show was promoted by K2, who are Mike's promoters. Mago is with Lewkowicz. Generally the event promoter doesn't throw their guys to lose to another guy's fighters, its usually the opposite.

Stevenson is talking as though he's a promoter but I could've sworn that the fighter's job is just to fight.

I`d like to see those 2 fight, but i understand that Stevenson is 36 and don`t have much time left.So he wants to make as much money as he can by taking on the most lucrative fights first. Some of you seem ok when Martinez chose a similar route, but when Adonis chooses to do the same thing, you call him a ducker.

Yup, he's buying himself time. Hoping he makes enough for when KOvalev retires him.

I'm accepting bets on this fight, I know I don't have as many points as some of the other posters but it's just for fun. Anyway, I posted a thread in the betting forums in case you'd like to get in on it. =)

I think he's been brought on too quickly here. Could get gassed if sillakh can push this into the championship rounds.
I love Ismayl but I doubt he'll last that long.

I've been following Ismayl for a long time, he's one of my favorite fighters but I think he'll get destroyed. He even got wobbled in his fight following his first defeat. He still has those same flaws (stationary upper body + low left hand) which Kovalev will probably take advantage of. Ismayl's management is either ****** or they wanna cash him out.

I wouldn't call him a ducker because boxers have made comments like this before and then ended up accepting the fight once offered more money. But from the sound of it he doesn't want to face the best opposition and is making weak excuses to justify himself. I don't like Martinez doing it either, btw.

The guy has one impressive win in his entire career (against a guy coming off of a KO loss) and that's it. We knew what would happen vs Cloud just like we know what will happen vs Bellew.

If he's happy to carry on like that for as long as possible then so be it, I'm not gonna hate the guy over it, it's his life and his health on the line. But you can't expect many boxing fans to be supportive of someone who has achieved so little deciding to swerve arguably the best fighter in the division and instead to focus on easier opposition. Most of the people who support guys like that seem to get more enjoyment from seeing a guy they've never met earn money rather than seeing a great fight.
