    Andy Ruiz' performance?

I really like this kid. I think in a potentially bad outing he impressed. Ruiz seems to have a solid chin. I would like to see him work out some better defense, head movement, maybe more glove blocking, etc but I am glad to know that he has some whiskers.

    What do others think?

His physique is an insult to the sport.

He has fast hands and doesn't have a problem landing accurately on the competition he fights. Hard to sell myself too much when he hasn't fought anyone and is so out of shape. There's real talent beneath that blubber.

Hamer owned him the first two rounds then lost nerve. In modern HW you need size or power to rule, if not, you better at least have awesome other abilities. Nothing about Ruiz impresses a lot, a 6'2 average power plodder is going absolutely no where. Maxes out at top 20 level at best. The comparisons to Arreola are absurd, Arreola has tremendous power (Ruiz simply lacks), tremendous grit (unproven in Ruiz) and tremendous chin (unproven in Ruiz).

I don't care about his physique, it's not bodybuilding after all, but unless he has a hidden atg chin Ruiz needs to tighten up his defense if he's going to progress, he takes far too many punches.

He wasn't looking to good in there. I was just telling my friends that this fat kid can fight you'll be surprised then he goes on and starts eating bombs lol

Talented but terribly out of shape. He definitely shouldn't be fighting at heavyweight.

Its not bodybuilding, but its also not a pie eating contest. Think of how much better he could be. Tremendous footwork for a man his size.
