Is Groves the biggest puncher at SMW?

I honestly can't think of another top fighter at SMW who hits as hard as George Groves? Nobody has shook Carl Froch up seriously in 10 or so championship fights, while Groves had him badly hurt on several occasions. That left right combo that put Froch down would have stopped 90% of the SMW division.

If Groves can work on his stamina and not get dragged into exchanges, I can see his speed, accuracy, and power giving the SMW and LHW divisions fits.

He's never going to beat Ward over 12, but I wouldn't rule out a KO victory. Maybe a 10-20% chance. However, I definitely believe he has all the tools and potential needed to become the definitive number two guy. He's only 25 too, so has plenty more miles on the clock. For me at least, the SMW division has become exciting again.

he landed a right hook while froch was throwing his own right hand, turning into the punch and took it right on the chin

that's as best a shot as groves will ever land

Froch literally walked into it, Ward would have dropped him if he landed that.

Everytime Groves landed a right on Froch, you could see Froch was hurt

Had him on the backfoot for 9 rounds cause he couldn't deal with the power

Groves landed about 7 flush rights in round 6 and Froch took them and smiled.

A Smile in boxing after a big blow indicates one is hurt, its all bravado

Fact is Froch changed the way he fought because of that right hand, normally Froch is the one coming forwards, jabbing his way in, but that right hand hurt him so bad, he spent the entire fight running away

Ive never seen Froch in so much trouble in a fight for that many rounds and he's never fought running away, not against Kessler, npt against Ward

Groves beat him up better than anyone, it was hard to watch because that right hand was pulverizing him. Anyone else and they would be out cold.

The effects of the right hand in the first made him nervous to get hit, he started to have too much respect for Groves power. Groves hit him with loads of clean rights throughout the fight and couldn't come close to repeating what he did in the first, it was just perfect circumstances.
