Comments Thread For: Roach: Pacquiao's Speed Will Overwhelm Mayweather

Manny Pacquiao would "overwhelm" unbeaten WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather with his lightning speed if the fight that fans crave takes place in 2014, according to trainer Freddie Roach. Top Rank's Bob Arum confirmed that Pacquiao, the only man to have held world titles in eight weight divisions, would next fight on April 12 in Las Vegas, with one of his conquerors from last year -- America's WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley, or Mexican arch-rival Juan Manuel Marquez -- the likely opponent.

No doubt. There is a reason why he has ducked him for 5 years straight. And that speed comes with sharp power.

It's too bad they ducked Mosley because he was "too good".. It's no wonder they ducked Mayweather. Must have been "too great".

Roach talking about Mayweather yet Pac has yet to face a legit welter weight since 2009.. and even then he needed a catchweight.. lol

Morales (first fight) and JMM aren't fast and they handled Pac's speed and power just fine. Besides, timing kills speed. Please stfu Roach. Either that or use some creativity when it comes to selling a fight. I'd have a bit of respect if you revealed some sort of intricate game plan as opposed to saying Pac would conquer everyone simply because he's fast. Pathetic. Notice Floyd has suddenly become a soft spoken athlete minding his own business whereas Roach can't stop running his mouth with all kinds of garbage coming out of it.

            He ducked Mosley?

I guess Mosley should've been the one ducking....

Why not just go for it in May then? There is no point in fighting Bradley and Marquez again because it will likely do nothing but derail his momentum from this rios fight. He will likely look bad or lose against both those guys. Just make the ****in mayweather fight already. We've heard about it for 4 years and it will probably never happen because Arum can't go without milking every single cent he can out of this guy first.

It was a good fight in 2010, now I just want to see it because it was talked about for all this time and it's shameful to think boxing will deeply regret this one not happening 10-20 years from now. I think Floyd wins easier than he did against Canelo though. Too bad he didnt have that same belief in himself apparently.

                  1. He'd beat Bradley yet again..listen when even pacquaio haters can find the clarity through the rage to admit Bradley should've lost that fight it's pretty clear bradley should've lost unanimously.

                  2. Wrong!! Go on twitter and message Lou Dibella and ask him about negotiating with Richard Schaeffer and GBP. He may enlighten you. The funny thing is Top Rank guys have no issue fighting Dibella or Duva fighters..when was the last time you saw GBP negotiate with another promoter? Yeah exactly...

                  3. Would still be a great fight even 4 years later, wouldn't put my money on either man to win but will celebrate both regardless of the outcome. If anything this time in building up gives both men the want to literally fkkkk the other guy up just for all the shhh they've taken over the years from fans and press.

Pac has pretty much no chance of beating Floyd at this stage. 2009-2010 yes, but not now.
