Does the less aggressive/smarter version of Pacquiao give Mayweather...

a better fight than the older, more aggressive and reckless version of Pacquiao?

Not so much. Infact, that favors Floyd's pace of a fight. That allows Floyd to get comfortable and find his rhythm.

I always felt the 2009 version of Pacquiao has the best shot, if not does, at beating Floyd.

Don't think so. Boxing with Mayweather won't work unless you have some sizable physical advantage. Crazy Pacquiao may keep Mayweather thinking rather than doing, boxing Pacquiao won't.

Both of you guys make good points.

however...I think the new version of Pacquiao gives Mayweather less mistakes to capitalize on. I'm leaning towards the slowed pace favoring Mayweather though.

But the stick and move, more calculated version of Pac against Mayweather would be VERY interesting simply because of Manny's foot speed. Mayweather has fought more flat footed recently and it's be honest, who has he fought recently that can move the way Pac moves and is that off beat/awkward?

It would be interesting. I'm actually a little more interested in this fight than I was Friday night.

It would definitely be interesting, but Mayweather's mastery of distance would beat Pacquiao's foot speed in a boxing match every time. Like every Pacquiao opponent, Mayweather would have his problems with how awkward Pacquiao is no matter how Pac fought.

I liked the Pacquiao from last night. He was countering well and actually made Rios gun shy. For Mayweather though I think the more aggressive Pacquiao needs to show up. The hand speed, foot work, power along with speed is something Floyd hasn't seen in awhile.

Wait wait, so Manny CAN box now right? I thought he was a jab jab left hand guy as everyone said he was. So now he can box, fight, and is either boring or exciting??

Manny is some crazy mofo man, Floyd should just fight the midget. Floyd's never fought anyone who fights anything close to Manny. Win or lose, Floyd should be giving fighters a shot, thats what makes boxing great.

LaMotta beat SRR. Douglas beat Tyson. Ali lost to Fraizer and Norton.

Manny's always been a boxer. He's always been an in and out fighter and in my opinion, that is boxing. Hitting, then moving before you can get hit. But he showed some new wrinkles last night. He was smothering Rios when he got inside more than I've seen. He was much more calculated when he came in and he was much more dynamic with his punches. His right hook is back. I liked last night's Pac too...not sure if it's enough to be Mayweather but my interest is definitely renewed.

It may give mayweather some problems but he still wins Manny has always had trouble with good boxers we need to see how he does against Bradley in a rematch or at least him matched up with a good boxer to see how he'd fair against mayweather now.

No it doesn't, I like that Pacquiao wasn't as reckless but if you remember correctly, Pacquiao fought in a similar style against Marquez in the 3rd fight which is why he got out boxed, it was the fact that he was willing to put himself out there that allowed him to have success against Marquez in the 4th fight but we saw how that ended. He needs to go all out against Floyd, put it all on the line because the only way he's winning is by stoppage.
