No joke, every time I stream a fight overseas and have to listen to Jim Watt I'm left wondering if the guy is actually watching the fight. Definitely an example of a commentating team I tune out and don't listen to.
Who is worse at commentating? Jim Watt or Roy Jones?

It's only Americans who find Jim Watt 'boring' probably because they have been brought up on such rubbish as wwf wrestling where everything needs to be dramatic and over the top...
Jim Watt is one of the 'voices' of British boxing and has been for years..
I would hate to think what you guys would think of Test Match Special....the wonderful cricket commentary that has become the 'sound of British Summer'..
P.s as a boxing legend...I would be inclined to listen to Roy Jones any time of the day...if he is commentating.Comment

Watt is awful, but it's not really a direct comparison. Watt is usally part of a two man team whereas Jones is part of a three or 4 man team at HBO.
If Jones was asked to talk almost non stop negatively about the fighters, then he'd be Jim Watt.
But I don't really get Sky's system. Their team is too big, Nelson and McCrorry seem to be at every gig, yet the studio is still packed with other guests. It's like if Match of the day had on all of their pundits in the studio every week. I think they need to get someone else alongside Watt to keep his negativity in check or actually give him a role rather than just giving his opinions a free airing 24/7.Your countrymen seem to agree with the Americans doe...

jim watt will do whatever it takes to minimize fighter b if he happens to like fighter a or he'll dog on both the entire fight. he's a miserable old fool with an annoyingly intrusive voice.Last edited by John Barron; 11-25-2013, 01:55 PM.Comment
