Of course it won't be easy. Pac has a hard time with defensive counter punchers or any fighter that won't stand right in front of him. Let alone has the speed to counter Pac's leaping in head first style.

Roach has always been skeptical about Pac fighting Mayweather though. Let alone Bob Arum never wanting to expose his golden goose to his former golden goose. He's all about them recycled fights.

It's too bad Pac can't KO anyone like he did back when everyone thought he was on PEDS by running from blood testing and/or Mayweather/$100+ million!

I like and respect Freddie, but I think don't think Pacquiao would be at all problematic for Mayweather. In fact, I'd guess that Canelo was more challenging for Floyd because of his physical size, and that was basically a sparring session.

The only intrigue in last night's fight was the possibility that Pacquiao was effectively done for after the Marquez knockout. Obviously, he proved that he isn't, but that doesn't mean that you can look at the fight without context.

As so many had noted prior to the bout, Brandon Rios was tailor-made for Manny. He's a slow, brawn-over-brain fighter with limited defensive skill and little interest in defense. He was outboxed by Mike Alavardo in his last bout, and while Alvardo has a decent ability to box, he is by no stretch of the imagination an elite boxer. So it's really no surprise that Pacquiao was able to outclass Rios.

Don't get me wrong: Pacquiao deserves credit for his performance, but suggesting that his victory over a brawler fighting at 147 for the first time means he's in a better position to give Mayweather problems is simply wishful thinking. Manny's worst performances have always been against boxers and Floyd is the best boxer in the business.

Manny is still the most marketable opponent for Floyd but if he starts buying his own hype off a Rios UD, he's going to be in for a rude awakening if the Mayweather fight is ever made.

Pacquiao-Mayweather isn't going to happen unless Arum has a fatal heart attack in the next 18 months but I suspect that old dog to out live us all.

I don't wanna get caught up in all the fun on this thread but...

Well - Freddy ain't gonna say 'well we've given it some serious thought and we figure Floyds gonna be an easy nights work' or 'Honestly, my fighter doesn't stand a chance'.

Every time anyone close to either fighter mutters some non-commital banality there's a legion of FLOwerPACks to eager and ready to slide around in the verbal grease.

The kids just need to get it on

Unfortunately no matter which fighter gave the judges the most reasons to gain the 'win', we'd still never hear the end of it.

Well... better late than never ...

But at this stage the fight its really cold, Manny doenst look like the "destroyer" he used to be.

Floyd UD Pac retires after with a lot more money.

To make it even worse, Rios laughed and smiled at almost ALL the big shots.... man came from LIGHT/SuperLIGHT for this fight and Pac couldnt crumble him like he did Hatton? You tell me!!

Yaaaa I would LOVE to see a Pac / Broner at this point. Would be a great gauge on where they BOTH are as fighters right now. And as much as I love AB, I would be covering my eyes the whole time, don't know how he would handle Pac's speed. May see one day!
