The Dirrell fight was in the Super Six - an immediate rematch wasn't possible. Then he vanished into thin air.

Groves got two gifts over DeGale and one was an amateur fight. This is the only case I've ever heard where an amateur contest was relevant. Groves claimed he "bashed up" DeGale which is just as if not more delusional/laughable than Froch saying that the ref saved Groves' life.
Ok... I see your point but look at the records after the fights.

Groves - Paul Smith / Sierra / Johnson
De Gale - Wilczewski / Sanavia / Mohoumadi
Groves - Allotey / De Gale / Sierra
    Anderson - Rea / Duncan / Morby

I'd say both times Groves has gone upwards after the fight, maybe not in the most immediate fight but those were the times where boxers would have long term plans as they are still learning.

If Froch doesn't give the kid a rematch, he will have taken a step backwards in my eye. He knows the kid gave him a great fight. The way he was talking after the fight was as if he dominated the kid, and that didn't happen. Then his rematch talk was even worse. Froch is my dude, but he came across ass crack in the post fight interview.

As far as the rematch goes, there's nothing in Froch's history to suggest that he would shy away from a rematch so I don't know where you're pulling that one from.
        Again, Dirk is spot on.

I'd prefer to see Groves get away from matchroom for a bit and try to get a fight with another world champion or De Gale.
You need to step away from NSB for a couple of days. The fight wasn't rigged or fixed; Froch as coming on strong late. The Sky commentary would have you think otherwise - Jim Watt was a disgrace.

Froch will honour his word. He'll rematch Groves. It may not be an immediate rematch, and rightly so.

I'm amazed how many people seem to be blind to Groves's decline in/from Round 5/6. It's pure underdog syndrome.

Groves v Ward with someone like Luis Pabon as ref would be interesting, otherwise Ward would just get inside and go to work for 12 rounds, too awkward for Groves to handle.

Man, take this joke of a post and flush down the toilet. The kid gave Froch a good fight and the fight shouldn't have been stopped. Froch came across like an ******* and you can't defend that ish. Forget about Degale. That ish didn't happen yesterday. Froch was awarded a lucky win and you know it.

We are talking about the stoppage. It was a bad stoppage. Froch fans, it was a bad stoppage. Damage control won't work here. Froch made it worse with his post fight idiotic rant.

Thats providing Hearn even allows... I mean even before the fight he was talking to HBO about Froch vs GGG or Chavez Jr and being very open about it.

It's a hugely risky fight for Matchroom unless George signs with them and it would be awful business sense for them to make that fight if George was to sign elsewhere.

Froch saving face because he got absolutely dropped in the first round and six rounds after that operated in zombie mode. Groves never went down at least and had the fight won. Groves probably would have survived and went on to win a decision most likely if not completely finish Froch. With all of this talking now Froch has to take the rematch knowing that Groves dropped him like a brick in the first fight and he can't go on saying anymore that he knocked down Groves in sparring.
