Brandon Rios came in at 159 on fight night. He is a slow fighter at a lower weight class but comes in that heavy to fight a fast Pacquiao. That was one bad game plan. If that was all Ariza, he sucks. If the game plan was to walk Pacquiao down 10 less pounds would probably have helped his speed at least.
What was team Garcia thinking?

It's not the fact that there's more weight added... it's WHAT that extra weight is composed of. In the case of boxing, it's essentially all water weight, which isn't going to hinder your performance.Brandon Rios came in at 159 on fight night. I honestly want to know what the gameplan was. He didn't seem to actually have one. Just walk forward, get dissected with combos, and lose a wide UD. Made no sense and even rewatching it, I still can't see what his goal was. Maybe he actually thought he would KO Manny Pacquiao

He started out using the jab a bit but abandoned it.
Really though Rios is simply a limited fighter that is not even close to Pacquiao's level so not much he could do.Comment

He had no sense of urgency either.
No way he thought he was up or close through 8.... he had to step it upComment

Garcia and his fighters are way overrated. Donaire and Rios look like beasts when they were fighting under sized and over matched opponents. Now that they don't have those phyisical advantages they don't look so great.Comment

Pretty sure the gameplan was to just hit Manny pacquiao hard, or at least try to.I honestly want to know what the gameplan was. He didn't seem to actually have one.
