Froch finally showed his age. He was slower than ever before, couldn't get the jab working despite a footlong reachadvantage. Maybe all those wars has finally caught up with him.
I felt Groves took a lot of shots and punishment.

I think Froch will stop him in the rematch

Not saying it wasn't a terrible stoppage because it was, but it's not like he just wobbled him, Groves had taken a lot of shots and was clearly hurt at the time.

        Still, really bad.

yea...the 'fade' was noticeable with Groves but that stoppage, good lord...he woulda been more justified stopping it after the KD because Froch looked more rocked at that point than when he headlocked Groves

Yeah but that was in the first round and had taken no punishment so it's a little different.

But yeah it was a terrible stoppage and ruined a great fight.

Froch was standing and trading like a warrior, but I think that tells the story of how the fight was going and how it would have likely ended.

He did take a lot, but had the ref not stopped it, a good bet would be that he would have been beaten up.

Oh and I'm not sure at all of aFroch win next time. He looked old and over the hill. Next time Groves will be better, but will Froch?

Terrible stoppage but it's sad that I'm not surprised. I turned to my friends before the fight and said "It's Howard Foster, don't be surprised if he jumps in prematurely".

The guy is an absolute joke.

like i said in another thread, it was a Sergio-like slippage that i saw from Froch

                      You may be right.

I think the first round KD might have made him a little gun shy.

I still think Froch get's him out of there though.
