The brain-damaged boxer who was beaten severely in a Nov. 2 fight at Madison Square Garden awoke briefly from his coma and was taken off life support and was breathing on his own on Thursday. His condition was on the upswing, it seemed. Those close to him were hopeful he had just taken a giant step forward in his road to recovery. What a stroke of good fortune. But on Friday, just when it seemed like his condition was on the mends, Magomed Abdusalamov, the heavyweight boxer dubbed “Russian Tyson” suffered a setback when his temperature rose abruptly to 103, forcing doctors to place him back in a medically-induced coma and on life support, his promoter said. This was a massive screw up..fight should've been stopped at the end of the first..he was wayyyyy too concerned with the damage he'd taken and not responding to his trainer..if you go and watch the fight again everytime between rounds they are asking him questions and he's not answering them not once..his trainer should lose his god damned license over it too...that doctor never bothered to climb into the ring to examine him either. I knew this fight was a problem when he spent 30 plus seconds out of his first round break checking out his face in the jumbotron and asking if his nose was broken...that means he's not into the fight the way a boxer should be and that's very dangerous.

This is the side of boxing I literally hate. And its also why I get irratated to no end when these dumbass couch warrior fans pump their chests, criticizing safety first fighters. And kissing the asses of these "warriors" who are "willing to take risk" to "give the fans exciting fights." Praying that this kid pulls through. But it doesn't look good. And even if he does, he's gonna be wrecked financially for the rest of his life.
