The fight with Canelo will be on the table for Cotto for awhile. Martinez's window though is closing fast.

he already screwed the canelo fight by loosing to trout , and now he is trying to screw it even more by loosing to grandpa martinez??
martinez has a mandatory his own size, cotto can take the canelo fight in march and if he wins he can also take the maravilla fight in the summer, there is not a reason for not taking both fights unless he feels he wont make it past canelo...

I'm pretty sure he'll fight Martinez, the money will be slightly less than a Canelo fight but the opportunity to increase his legacy will make up for it.

Cotto screwed nothing. Who do you think Canelo is? He just lost his last fight. Canelo needs Cotto more than Cotto needs Canelo. Cotto is in the twilight of his career. He can fight anyone he wants to. Who else is there for Alvarez that is equivalent to a Cotto PPV? Name one.

For all intents and purposes Cotto will likely take the $10mil payday that the Canelo fight brings, unless HBO matches the offer and they entice him to move up a higher weight class. In any case I think Martinez is the harder fight & Canelo gets schooled.
