Arum paved the way to China. Probably would've done the same thing for the Great Wall if he were born a little earlier.Comment

chinese government is making an investment in boxing. that should be good.On China daily Zou is the number 1 story while Pac is story number 3.
Get stories and pictures of soccer, basketball, tennis, motor racing, sports stars and the Olympic Games from the China Daily and chinadaily.com.cn.
On SCMP Pac is the number 1 story, Zou is the number 2 story, and a write up on Thrilla in Manilla is the number 3 story.
Latest sports news and commentary on Hong Kong Sevens, horse racing, NBA, rugby, tennis and trail running. We also cover MMA updates including UFC fight reports and kung fu news.
If you scroll down to the HK section of the news you'll see that a story about a boxer named Rex Tso is the number 1 story there too.
This isn't the first time I've made a thread like this. Every time Zou or Xiong fight they take over the news in China too. Some people keep trying to say boxing will never take on in China, but pretty clearly we are seeing some major waves here. This was an old one about the headlines Xiong was getting. He fought in a 40k seat stadium in China and nobody reported on it. The reaction this time is clearly much larger again. My only regret is that it's not being broadcast on CCTV.

I remember when they invested in basketball and it became HUGE. If this gives fighters another outlet for bigger money-thats a good thing.Comment

LOL that's the site I posted in the OP where Manny and Zou are the top story. Also, if you look now the top story is about the Klitschko brothers. Pretty much the entire front page of that very site is covered in boxing stories.Manny who? Most Chinese have little idea who he is
