i strongly agrre with his wife on this one. He's a champ, healthy, and now wants to run for presidency. Why not retire? Plus it would be good for the heavyweight division. This will give Wladmir a chance to unifiy the title. It would be great to have an undisputed heavyweight champion. The last undisputed heavyweight champ was Lennox Lewis so i feel its time for some unification. I say he should take on his madatory challenger and the Wilder/Fury winner if that fight matures. That is of course if Wladmir doesnt get to one of those guys first.Comment

based on what? can't be resume. a guy like rahman has a much better resume than vitali and he's not considered a legend. so why is vitali a legend? unrealized potential? beating a lot of bums? being really tall? having a brother that also boxes? none of these things make you a legend.Comment

Someday we'll be old men telling our grandchildren tales of the boxing legends.
"Vitali, the towering German.. they say he was about eight feet tall, arms like oak trees, punches like Panzer tanks..."
"He once battled the great Christ Byrd, savior of the Western boxing world. They say he could fire about 30 jabs per second and could circle the ring in the blink of an eye..."
"It took 90 grueling rounds for Byrd to crucify the beast. He was blind, deaf, and his fists were nothing but bloody stumps, every bone in both hands shattered. On the doctor's orders, a badly damaged Vitali was told to quit but he refused to leave the ring. Both Byrd and Vitali's teams swarmed the ring but failed to subdue him. They were thrown like ragdolls, crushed underfoot. Seven men died that night. Finally they brought him down with tranquilizer darts and Byrd was awarded the WBO Heavyweight Title."Comment
