If GBP get their hands on him.... would it still be on the table? They say they're only offering him a one fight deal... but they're gonna hold onto him as long as they can.
They have all the belts at 154

The lineal world title means nothing when the man holding it refuses to fight the #1 contender. Hagler, Monzon or Hopkins would have already fought GGG by now if they were the champion. They would have fought him even if they thought they would lose because they understood the world champion has an obligation to fight the #1 contender. Maybe not every title defense but at least once a year.To me GGG is the lineal middleweight champion by default. He will defend his title against the best available middleweights. It's not his fault the other top middleweights don't want to fight him. Martinez is never going to get a fight with Cotto or Canelo because he thinks he is the A side of the fight and can make them come to Argentina to fight him. If Martinez does not want to defend his title against the best middleweights anymore he should step down and compete as a 154 pounder since that is the weight of the guys he wants to fight. If Cotto won the middleweight title from Martinez he would be the lineal champ but it be meaningless because almost everyone knows Cotto is not the best middleweight in the world. He recently lost fights by many points to a welterweight and a Jr. middleweight.

Just listen to the whole video. It's exactly what some of us have been saying

it's not that GGG doesn't deserve it; it's that Sergio is more deserving of a big PPV to retire into the sunset. That's why he wants Cotto or Canelo.

It was really hard for him to get to this level. He chased Paul, Pavlick, Chavez, jr. he's not going to risk fighting in Argentina in his 40s because GGG fanboys wanted GGG to "get his" right away. It's really hard to get to SM's status.

Boxing isn't just a sport for these guys. It's the livelihood and they only get a few shots to make as much money as possible. Sergio won't ever make money like would fighting Cotto or Canelo.

This isn't a "duck" is a move that Sergio deserves. When GGG is 38 and a huge star and wants to ride into sunset with big PPV, he'll be in the same spot.

The best thing GGG can do is keep beating guys like Sergio did to force JCCjr to fight him. No one is going to give it to him just because he's exciting and has 10 hard core fans posting messages.

No ones saying it's a duck and the point is if Sergio goes that get a big PPV fight and retire into the sunset.... Golovkin could and should probably be called "the man" at 160. Do you disagree with that? Sergio has every right to chase his pay day... But with that comes him holding the "MW crown" hostage and not fighting the number 1 contender. And if that's the case, people shouldn't give Sergio an unofficial fantasy win against Golovkin or say "oh but Golovkin never beat the REAL man at 160, etc

Golovkin last fight had 1.5m viewers, 3rd best of the year on a premium network. Sergio's last fight had 700k viewers, Showtime numbers

Of course. Even Di Bella knows that at this point GGG beats SM. I don't think anyone would give Sergio a fantasy win. And whoever would say "oh he didn't beat the man" is just well....you've seen this board. Too many ****** people.

Well said. So long as Golovkin doesn't get unfairly shafted, I can't think of Nyone who would have a problem with Martinez cashing out or looking for a money fight, etc

He's looking to cash out on 2 fights... Canelo and Cotto.
Cotto possible, Canelo not so much until 2015
