We are talking about a man who started boxing in late 2005 and by 2007 he won the National Golden Gloves and the US Championships and than won the Olympic trials in 2008 after only 20 something amateur bouts. He did not intend to be a boxer, he played football and basketball. In fact he wanted to be a wide receiver (which should tell you a lot about his athleticism).

As for the speed of his punches, find me another 6 foot 7 heavyweight fighter with as much zing on their punches as the Bronze Bomber. All big heavyweights have K.O. power, the difference in Wilder is his speed and accuracy for his SIZE. Realistically if his punches were so telegraphed, he would not have been able to stop everyone he's faced. Someone in the 30 professionals he's faced would have been able to nullify this extreme lack of skill that many of you like to jaw about.
yea,,,I did just rewatch some of his fights on youtube and he is actually a little faster than I first thought. its just he kinda winds up with his punches which takes them a little longer to reach the target. anyway,,,I hope to see him do well. should be a great fight. I slightly lean toward an early kayo win for wilder but its a tough one to call imo
