What are the chances of these two top boxers being from the same city?

First of all, they're Asians, which is already rare in professional boxing.

Secondly, they're from the same small city General Santos that was unknown in the boxing world.

Third, they didn't even have any overlap in trainers or gyms.

Fourth, they rose to top of the game near the same time frame.

I'm talking about Nonito Donaire and Manny Pacquiao.

They also went to the same school.

Donaire moved to California when he was 11 though.

I also wonder how 2 brothers can be the top 2 fighters in the world in the same division, for many years

It's not too rare imo when you consider it's the phillipines. Not exactly some isolated tribe that had two random boxers be successful. I think it's much more rare when it's two brothers who happen to be very good like the K bros, Marquez brothers and the japanese kameda brothers for modern examples.
