    How Should Cotto Fight Canelo?

Should he box and move around the ring since Canelo cant cut the ring off like he fought Margarito. Pressure like he did against guys like Quintana and Rodriguez where he comes at you with foot and body movement giving faints or should he just box behind his jab in the center of the ring and look to counter what Canelo throws at him?

I say he should use the Margarito 2011 strategy. Thing is, Canelo isn't gonna be coming straight at him and thus Cotto won't land as often, and we both know he pretty much needs to kill Canelo to even get a draw.

Truth be told, I'm afraid he's gonna go in there guns blazing like he did against Delvin and get KO'd.

Pressure. And good thing he has the right coach with him for his style. Cotto is more effective when he is on the attack rather than dancing around the ring wasting his energy and fading down the stretch. He needs to do damage early. Never like cotto trying to look cute and box because he does not have the stamina to do it for 12 rounds.

If I was Cotto, I would implement plan #2 (swarm/pressure) because of Canelo's suspect endurance/stamina. Now, this would require Cotto to have great conditioning. Since Canelo has the reach advantage, i don't think Cotto should ever look to use plan #3 (jab/counter). If he ever gets hurt while pressuring, he can revert to plan #1 (box/move).

I think Cotto can outbox Canelo and I think he can come like he did against Rodriguez and finish him. But not as relentless and aggresive. I'm talking about being explosive and throwing in combinations. I don't think he should trade with Canelo. But I think having better hand speed will allow him to throw a combination , back off, jab some and prepare another combination and back off a little.

I think if he pressures Canelo that way he can win stop him late. Or box and outpoint him. Bit I don't like Cottos stamina when he does that.

Canelo doesn't throw a lot of combinations but early on he throws a very explosive 2 punch combo leading with a very stiff and strong jab. Cotto needs to stay away from the second punch. Canelo throws that with bad intentions and I think that can put Cotto to sleep.

I absolutely think Cotto can keep Canelo off balance all night in multiple ways and make him look bad.

I believe he's going to be offensive against Canelo. It's going to be a fire fight and I hope the fight gets finalized soon!

Do what his brother did, but finish him.
Seriously tough, i agree with Kiaba.
See what Alfonso Gomez did? He troubled Canelo, but eventually got knocked out.

Mixing it up a little, but mostly fighting on the outside because for the most part, Canelo has problems with good foot movement. So Cotto should stay on his toes and on the times they do fight on the inside deliver good liver and midsection shots to deplete Canelo's stamina. After round 6 or 7 simply walk him down.
