Or you could just go down to your local bar on the weekend. The fights there probably don't go the distance.

With that high of a percentage in Power punches and jabs landed, shouldn't there be more KO's? Did he even get one knock down in the Super 8 tourney? Sorry, don't mean to hate, but I enjoy excitement in fights, not masterful skilled jabs
Lol 90% eh. I don't get how people on this site (people who comes here to discuss boxing) hate on a fighter of a certain style and complain every time they fight. Real boxing fans like all types of fights, not just brawls and not just fights with high skills

There's a reason why it is called "The sweet science". The guys you named are masters at their craft. So called "exciting" fighters that throw caution and defense to the wind end up like Magomed or they have short careers.

But that's the point, he is not a real boxing fan, he is a UFC fan, he just doesn't know it yet.

Well I'm pretty sure everyone knew Rodriguez wasn't coming in there to try and box.

Fighters like Rodriguez can only win fights two ways, and that's by either fighting dirty or landing one punch knockouts.

Good to see people on here sticking up for real boxers. People on here hating need to realize that the Andre Wards / b hops / may weathers etc.. Would get more Jo's if their opponents pressed the action more. After about the 3rd round they are in survival mode - Ward / b hop / Mayweather are defense first fighters so they are not going put them self out of position to go after it. Look at Hatton pressing Mayweather and getting Ko'd , he was too brave for his own good. What about Guerrero super pressure inside fighter - not against Mayweather - it's like people do not recognize what their eyes are seeing. Look at Mago (respect to him and his family) but no head movement nor defense you can get hurt in this sport. Ward will kill an overly aggressive fighter - Period , I think a lot of so called fans of the sport need to go to MMA - boxing is hit and not get hit - these cats are accurate and know how to punch correctly - after about the 2nd or 3rd round their opponents find out and go into survival mode

Great post. Most of the guys who criticize fighters like Ward, Hopkins and Mayweather have probably never been hit by a solid punch in their lives. So they can't wrap their heads around the notion that even if a single punch doesn't have enough oomph to knock you out cold, it can do enough damage to make you change your game plan.

Ward, Hopkins and Mayweather have proven that they have more than enough pop to keep their opponents honest, which is precisely why their opponents don't take the chances the keyboard warriors expect them to.
