Floyd has to choose which title he wants to keep.I am sure he will choose to keep his 147 pound title. If he fights the best welterweights that would be good enough for me. Khan is Mayweather's next opponent and I think it is his worst cherry pick. Khan has never defeated a welterweight in his life and he struggled with unranked Diaz in his last fight. If Khan has problems with Diaz how can he possibly beat Mayweather? I understand Floyd won't fight Pacquiao, or Bradley because they are with Top Rank and HBO. If Alexander beats Porter then Floyd could fight Alexander who would deserve a shot at Maywearher much more than Khan does. I would be happy with a Floyd-Alexander fight but Mayweather-Khan is a mismatch.

at 135 he fought the lineal champion Castillo in his 1st fight there

at 140 Gatti was the #1 contender..and Hattons people turned the fight down so did Cotto's

at 147 he has beaten the lineal champion 2 times(mosley.baldo)

          Atg?

          "Floyds atg status?"

Floyd is a mere HOF'mer, not an ATG. He blew that long ago by not challenging himself against the very best. He hasn't had a significant win a long time. Cotto was suppose to be shot but we all know what happened in that fight. Canelo was drained and never looked so skinny. He lost that fight on the scales. The Ghost? What a joke fight that was. WHY would a fighter as talented as Floyd, take that fight? When is the last time he fought someone who actually had a chance to defeat him? Manny is an ATG and the best fighter of his era. Hands down. Floyd has no balls my friend.

castillo was legit,,, but afterwards he didnt defend vs worthy fighters, sosa and ndou should not have been in front of guys like spadafora, johnston, casamoyer, freitas at the time

140- gatti was a champ,,, so was hatton, tszyu, cotto, witter, maussa, harris, actually the division was loaded at the time, and with floyd we get corley, gatti, bruscles, shambra--

147- zab and baldomir was legit, but then defended vs hatton who was garbage at 147,, margs, williams, cotto, shane all battled it out and floyd is fighting hatton and retirement,,,
He cameback and finally fought old shane and cotto, with ortiz and ghost,, and please dont say ortiz and ghost were legit guys and should have gotten the fight,,, their best wins are berto,, and what was berto's best win,,, he never had one,,,

I really dont care about 154, floyd doesnt campaign there, so i have no issues with him no fighting lara, angulo etc,,, I dont count 154 even thoght floyd had nice wins there but oscar and cotto were old, and canelo just isnt that good, and it showed in the floyd fight....

140-cotto and hattons people refused to fight floyd

147-he left top rank so thats why he fought no top rank fighters...shane refused to fight him, williams was a prospect and he fought an undefeated hatton who won a title at 147

you can try to rewrite history all you want but Floyd has faced the best in every division he has been to...shane was the lineal champion when floyd beat him and cotto was #1 at 154,oscar was a champ there and floyd had only 3 fights at 147 before moving to 154 to fight him..and Canelo was the damn ring champ and 14 years younger

What's sad about your post is that this is actually stuff that Floyd detractors would say. From the corny nickname to the bashing of his opponents

True, but what about everyone else,,, was bruscles and gatti the best options, no they were not

147-he left top rank so thats why he fought no top rank fighters...shane refused to fight him, williams was a prospect and he fought an undefeated hatton who won a title at 147
Hatton was given a title at 147, collazo got robbed, thats why hatton went straight back down to 140, he knew he was crap at welter,,
Shane refused from 99-06,, but after floyd beat oscar and became the biggest $$$ draw in the sport, shane wanted to fight, but floyd was in retirement and then shane fought cotto, and floyd comes out of retirement to fight hatton at welter,,,
And you know what,, at the time GPB and TR were working together and gave us great fights like jmm-manny 2, cotto-shane, manny-hatton, margs-shane, etc yet when there was no promotional war and all the big fights could be made, where is floyd,, another bogus retirement

you can try to rewrite history all you want but Floyd has faced the best in every division he has been to...shane was the lineal champion when floyd beat him and cotto was #1 at 154,oscar was a champ there and floyd had only 3 fights at 147 before moving to 154 to fight him..and Canelo was the damn ring champ and 14 years younger
I dont really ever begrudge floyd for his 154 fights,, its a division that he shouldnt even be in, yet his great skills allow him to succeed there,,
Oscar was a good win,, oscar was old, but to be the man you got to beat the man, and floyd did,, cotto was shot and old,, canelo was never that good,, I said floyd would win a wide UD and thats what happened,,,

Floyd doesnt fight the best of every division: the best welters since 06 were cotto, margs, manny, bradley, williams, floyd, and floyd hasnt fought one of them in their prime

the most obvious fact that proves floyd ducks out of big fights, is that when GPB and TR were working together making hatton-manny, manny-oscar, margs-shane, cotto-shane,, etc where was floyd??????
