Bottom line is that GGG would be favored over Martinez today and there's a good reason for that: He's destroying guys like Macklin in a way that far surpasses what Martinez did in his prime.

Martinez is an excellent fighter, and he won some awesome wars, but he'd still be a dog vs GGG. It doesn't mean he can't beat him, but it does mean if you were to bet your $1 to another person's $1 that Martinez would win, you would be a fool.

People are rightfully talking about GGG because he's the best 160lber right now based on all the information that we have today. If GGG loses or fights a close decision vs a non top fighter, that might change, but up until this point, GGG is dominating all types of fighters, and some pretty good ones recently too, whereas Martinez won close wars and is older and post injury too.... that all adds up to GGG being a favorite.

There's no sense in getting all upset about it, it's an objective fact, no matter who you like. I hope they can fight one day and we can see who is truly better, but until then, we have to base our predictions on what we see and GGG looks like the better fighter.

To support my last post a bit, lets look at some of the guys GGG has fought recently.

Macklin - He took Sergio deep in a good fight, he's ranked just behind guys like Barker and Geale to most people. GGG destroyed this guy, walked right through him.

Rosado - Most people have Quillin #3 at 160 lbs, but I think even his detractors would put him right up there with Barker and Geale (the former who took Sergio deep in a really good fight). Rosado got beaten to a pulp by GGG for half a fight until his corner had to stop it. But vs Quillin, Rosado was doing a good job, and was pretty close on the objective scorecards of the media when it was stopped due to cuts. Quillin deserved his victory, but it was very hard fought and a close fight. GGG's fight was a landslide.

Stevens - Everyone will admit that Stevens had power. How good he is, it is hard to say. But Stevens can slug, and GGG walked through several huge power punches from Stevens without so much as looking phased. We all know Martinez exchanges in every single fight he's in (Barker, Macklin, Murray, Chavez, etc.). How on earth can one imagine that Martinez would survive an exchange with GGG, who can take power punches from bigger punchers than Martinez? Yet knock guys like Macklin out that Martinez had far more difficulty against...

The bottom line is, GGG would be favored vs Martinez because his work, while thinner, is far more dominant. Martinez is obviously aging too and coming off injury. If you want to argue that a prime Martinez would be at least as good as GGG, that's a different argument (though still very debatable). But currently, there's no objective reason to think that GGG would not be a favorite against Martinez.

Last person on earth or all of boxing you can call a ducker is Sergio..he fought Paul Williams when nobody and I mean nobody else wanted to fight him. He fought Margarito when nobody and I mean nobody wanted to fight him. He fought Chavez as the underdog...his resume speaks for itself about him being willing to face favored opponents.

That was a big difference, thanks for the real story bro.

So, basically, what DiBella is saying is : "Fuck me".

What's funny is that video was shot by Chris Robinson himself.

Well shut up about Golovkin with you stop trying to keep Sergio away from him Lou.

At times I love Lou, but god damn what a ****ing hypocrite. Before it was Golovkin, it was Pirog.

BTW, the video just shows that Martinez is not ducking anybody. DiBella is right is that boxing is a business and DiBella is just maximizing his investment by putting Martinez in with Cotto (the #3 star in boxing). Then when Martinez is ready to cash out, he'll fight for legacy rather than the big bucks (i.e. GGG). DiBella is also correct in stating that while GGG's star power is growing, he's not a proven PPV name yet.

sergio is now on the other side of the title situation like he was in with chavez fighting his way thru to get that shot!! but obviosuly martinez is far more proven than chavez will ever be, but i think sergio gives ggg his shot but he will have to keep storming thru guys and keep the statement alive and bold. martinez went thru tough fights to get his shot. whether tough or easy ggg will need a couple more big wins to score this fight. cotto is looking to mix it up with him and so is canelo those are much better paydays obviously

                      DiBella's 'outbursts' are tiresome.
