i got your message but I cant reply. it's by a painter by the name of basquiat, he does a bunch of modern art and a lot of boxing too. This painting in my avi is to signify that robinson was a king in an era of black and white times as a boxer.
Wish he would've put some boxing gloves somewhere thoughComment

dont act like it was fat slow toney,, yes toney landed occassionally but nunn was owning that fight till the 9th..Griffen and Nunn are completely different fighters at completely different weights.
Toney was getting outboxed early on. He was landing the right hand a ton in spots though, don't act like Toney wasn't landing.
The difference is Jones has the footspeed and movement to create openings because Nunn was a stalking boxer puncher and Toney pretty much took rounds 8 9 and 10 before the 11th round K0.
nunn and griffin would both bother roy with the jab,,, that is a fundamental in the sweet science,, a good jab can neutralize speed,,, no matter the fighters involved,,, examples would be cotto and oscar vs floyd,, griffin vs roy, morales vs manny 1.....
speed is always disrupted by a good jab, especially a double or triple jab,,
watch the first guy to put it on gary russel jr will have a good jabComment

I watched one of my old VHS videos of Roy knocking out Percy Harris on HBO(1993). Roy was landing these lead right hands and rocking Percy Harris everytime he landed one. I can see him doing this to Nunn. Percy Harris was like 6'2 or 6'3.
Then I watched the Jones vs. Tate fight. Roy leaped in with a left hook and dumped Tate for a TKO.
I can see these punches being effective against Nunn.
But then I can see Nunn's straight left being a little Tarver-like on Jones.
I still stick to Jones KOing Nunn,....regardless. To much of a beast at MW. Too strong, too fast.Comment

Boxingtshirts.com have that shirt and I thought it was wack. Glad their is meaning behind it. Its not my cup of tea but I respect the art.i got your message but I cant reply. it's by a painter by the name of basquiat, he does a bunch of modern art and a lot of boxing too. lol at the russell being 5 feet tall,,, that cracked me up
and ok, i will give you that toney is slow compared to jones, but damn near everyone is slow compared to jones,,
All i was trying to say was that toney was in shape and primed vs nunn and nunn pretty much dictated the fight till the 9th,,, prime nunn would be a tough fight for roy ala roy-tarver 1Comment
