who wins and why? Cotto vs Canelo

Even though he is getting up there in ring wear I'd favor Cotto. He has more options and has far more experience than Canelo.

Canelo is a natural counter puncher and much to conservative to beat Cotto.

Cotto has only lost to guys who could outbox him(Mayweather and Trout) or guys who fight at a high pace throughout the fight( Trout, Margarito, Pacquaio).

Canelo brings none of these attributes

Cotto can fight inside, outside, mid range, and is a good counter puncher as well. Thier speed is about even. On the inside Canelo's right uppercut could land well since Cotto has shown vulnerablity to this punch but the target has to be stationary for him to be effective. Cotto will push him back and make him work and IMO Cotto has the advantage inside especially since Roach is getting him back to utilizing his hooks to the head and body inside and combinations up and down

Cotto would win a decision to me if he doesnt get stiffed on the cards. He has more options.

Cotto is just too damn good for Canelo.

I would have easily said Canelo before the Floyd fight but I'm not sure how will react to a loss he was fighting very confident before and kind showboating at times

Canelo. He is explosive and I feel like his boxing ability might be understated.

Canelo has decent boxing skills, problem is he and his team thinks he's better than he actually is and they rely on it too much.

Canelo beats up Cotto. The Joel Diaz version had a better shot to beat Canelo than Freddie Roach version. Freddie has Miguel attacking more which to me wouldn't go well vs Canelo he's more powerful has faster hands and a better combination puncher. I can see the fight getting stopped on cuts. To beat Canelo you have to take the target away from not to him. I think Cotto will be able to outjab him but will get in trouble in exchanges.

Canelo could box the fight of his life and he still couldn't outbox Cotto. He can't box at the highest level, Floyd proved that. He thinks he's this defensive whiz that can roll every shot and counter with 3 or 4 shots a round and get the KO. He's not that good and he'll never be that good.

If i was to bet money id pick Canelo over Cotto..Cotto has fast feet but is not the counter puncher Floyd is and is not the boxer Floyd is...Cotto has a great jab and goes well to the body..but Canelo strings together better combos and has faster hands
