Passing the torch - Carl Froch v George Groves

November 23rd is the night that will make or break George Groves.

Defeat Carl Froch, and he becomes the best fighter in Britain and the 2nd best SMW on the planet

Lose and everything he has worked for to this date will be gone, he won't be getting a world title shot again anytime soon.

In my opinion, Groves has the style and attributes to give Froch a hard fight, Groves has speed, boxing ability, good movement and a very good left jab. He also has the power to earn Froch's respect, make no mistake Carl Froch is going to have to put educated pressure on George Groves, he's not going to walk through him like he did with Bute. Groves won't crumble like Bute did, and if Froch comes in recklessly George will hurt him.

I see this fight going similarly to the Froch-Taylor fight, I think George will control the first 6 rounds, the last 6 rounds are going to be the acid test, if George can keep to his boxing, and make it to the final bell then he should emerge with a close decision win.

    What do you think boxingscene?

groves will be competitive for around 3 rounds max and then Froch will up the pace and dominate him....

Also if Froch lands something heavy early Groves will go extremely negative and bottle out just like Bute

If Groves had a better chin i would give him a chance, but he doesn't and i expect a similar end result to the Bute fight with Groves actually winning the first few rounds though.

Styles make fights, so you can't say that he's the second best super middleweight in the world if he wins cause he's fought no one, but froch is because he's proved himself aginst the best.

People give Carl Froch too little credit for his boxing skill, he might be slow, but that doesn't mean he can't counterpunch or make you play his game. Froch is very clever inside the ring, sometimes he wants to make it a brawl, but that's a decision on his part. Froch knows he hits hard and can take a punch, so if he can turn a fight into a brawl, he'll do it, many credit to him for that.

I can't rap my head around people accusing Froch of being a no skill, lucky or easy to hit because neither of those are the case.

Oh and for this fight, let's just get a good KO, so Froch can move on to bigger and better things, that are interesting for other people than the brits.

A lot of people give Groves a shot. I don't see why, this is just another tune-up for Froch. If Carl doesn't stop Groves in 8 it will be embarrassing though...

                Carl's not passing anything.

He's putting a beating on Groves.

On the interview before the Prizefighter just now Froch's sounded a little ill like he had the Flu.

Don't know when that was recorded but still, something to consider I suppose.

Pure speculation though. Could have just had a hard day in training.
