I have family in Santa Fe Leyte that we have not been able to get in touch with since the typhoon hit. The past few days have been a nightmare for us and I can understand the backlash Pacquiao is receiving from the Philippine people. He is a congress man that was elected to uphold and honor civil duty. I am a huge fight fan but we're talking about a storm that hit and killed thousands of people while thousands more are suffering to get a hold of food and water... I think this trumps his fight and he should at least be the man he says he is especially with his pride of being a Filipino and go to the region to see what he can do. Berto called off his fight with Mosley when the earthquake in Haiti happened.. and now Manny can't even go to Tacloban because he's training? BS.
hey man i really hope you get in touch with your family and that they are as well as can be expected. a lot of my pinoy friends are in deep pain because they cannot contact loved ones. my prayers go out to all who are impacted by this mega tragedy. as a human being it is really painful to see such devastation. it just hurts to see such suffering. dam boxing at this time we have to help the people.
Pac is a thorough dude....respect!!....I was watching CNN International last night and saw the statement he released....he's sending help to his peeps....that's wassup
People on internet always go at celebrities to fix eveyrthing just by them posting on twitter, etc...
Im pretty sure theyd much rather do it in person than through social media.
Pacs always given backto the people, bags f rice, turkeys etc..once this fight is over im damn sure ac will be in that region helpingout. Hes a man of god and already said he sent help.
People all about this twitter is nonsense lol. Why does he have to sayit when hes not even the one posting on twitter.

(...) In what he called a "statement to his people," the 34-year-old Pacquiao said: "I really want to visit the area and personally do what I can to help our countrymen who have suffered so much in this terrible tragedy. But I'm in deep training for a crucial fight so I regret I cannot go."
"I will send help to those who need it the most," he added, "and I enjoin all of you to pray for our country and people in these trying times."
That's understandable. I think his people would much rather him stay in camp to train and win rather than call off the fight or become distracted with everything. The best thing for them is for Pac to win and dedicate the victory to them.
Because fighting/winning would be the best thing for Pac and his people.
If anyone remembers Berto's case, he called off his fight because he was fighting the WW Champion Shane Mosley and felt he needed to be with his people more than to train in a fight he probably didn't think he would win.
