ill agree that right now its robinson based on his accomplishments, but he may not have the best skills ever. like he doesnt have the reflexes or speed of roy or pbf, but that doesnt mean hes not the best of all time. ali is the best hw ever. if not him, then who?

Tyson may well have had the potential, but based on his achievments he ain't the greatest in my opinion.

This is single handedly the most shocking thing I think I have ever seen. Ali didnt fight in Vietnam because he disagreed with the war. He wasnt even going to fight, the US wanted him to be a 'morale booster' - go over to Nam to cheer the troops up. No way did they want to send Ali into battle - can you imagine the bad propaganda if the heavyweight champion of the world had gotten killed!? He didnt go to war because it, just like Iraq, was a bull**** war that had NOTHING to do with Americans. Countless American lives were ruined because of a warmongering president without morales. Also, why would Ali want to fight for his country after the way he had been treated by the majority of white Americans? As Ali said, "no Vietcong ever called me a ******".

He wasnt a draft dodger. If that had been WW2, where the war was worth fighting, Ali would have been there. Someone else said that his religion allows him to kill people in the ring but not in war - wrong. If you think boxing is about trying to kill people then you are watching the wrong sport my friend. It IS a brutal sport, but not one boxer enters the ring HOPING to kill someone. And rules are in place to make it as safe as possible. It is not drowning a village with Agent Orange of Napalm
Nice argument.I'm in the military, and I agree 100%. Robinson probably does have to be considered the best of all-time, but Ali IMO is the best Heavyweight. The best around today- PBF.

                    ** Ali.

Was blessed to see him up close twice at his absolute peak. You boys will never understand the mystique that was Ali. He was so much more and so much less that he was an enigma wrapped in a puzzle and tied with a mystery.

you have already proven yourself an idiot by calling ali a rascist. how the hell is robinson better than ali? ali is p4p the fastest fighter ever, and his record isn't padded like robinsons is, so there is no contest.

and which hw is better that ali? liston? ha! liston got his butt handed to him by ali twice so enough said.

for the ******s who say louis is better, louis' whole career was made of beating up a bunch of small glass chin bums, and big, slow-moving glass chin bums. for those who say rocky friggin' marciano is better, than you are even more ******ed than the louis fans. rocky's chin is overrated, he was p4p the slowest and possibly the slowest period "hw" of all time. he got floored by lhw's with overrated power in his prime, and all these guys were pushing 40, and one was even well over 40. ali's speed alone would win the fight for him let alone ali's granite chin.

who else are you gonna say is better than ali? foreman? get real, foreman got obliterated by ali when foreman was in his prime and ali was over the hill, so if ali was in his prime, then logically it would have been worse! who else? frazier? frazier's best win came over an ali that lost speed due to a layoff, and on top of that, he didn't even take frazier seriously. and frazier was at his absolute prime when they fought and joe still barely beat him. and frazier in two tries wasn't even close to beating the louisville lip after, so if ali was prime he would have frazier dizzy and confsed, haha! who else? tyson? buster douglass used a simple sick-and-move and shocked tyson, and douglass is not half as fast, nor does he have half the punching power or chin that ali has, and even though that wasn't tyson at his best, that would logically mean that even if he was, someone like ali who is way better than douglass would beat tyson. who else? holmes? ali was strung out on drugs when they fought plus he had parkinsons and was old, and holmes was prime, so that doesn't mean anything. holmes was beat by spinks a glass chin lighthw, so no way larry could beat ali. who else? after those i just mentioned there is realy none worth mentioning after. ali has fought a better combination of harder hitting opponents than any body else. he is the fastest hw the world has ever seen prior and since. even when he is flatfooted he he still has amazing speed, alot of his fights show him standing still and just moving his head out of the way of rapid-fire combinations, something no other hw has done yet. nobody compares in speed to ali, so ali knocks out or stops any stick-and-mover with ease, embarrases and stops any slugger with ease, and usually catches most swarmers and knocks them out. at his absolute prime (1966-1967), there is no one style that ali would have that much trouble with. norton didn't fight ali at his fastest, so you can't use ken norton as a crutch for that argument.

lol, but you aps214 are a ******, so i could care less what you think. a ****** ****-sucking prick who beats off to foreman. jimmy young floored foreman you *****! can you imagine young flooring ali even the ali that fought holmes or berbick? i know ali wasn't the best person but nobody's perfect. sure he was a womanizer but (no ****) but if you had his good looks and sexy women came on to you like they did to him would you resist them either? unless you are a christian or something like that i doubt it. so learn to appreaciate ali more than you do, cause ali wasn't the best person, but he certainly wasn't the worst.
