If fighters are gonna make excuses for bad fights...

If a fighter is going to make excuses for why he looked bad on fight night, he needs to make them before the fight, not after. During fight week, if they get asked how they feel, the fighter needs to say, "oh, well, I have the flu, my shoulder is a little beat up, etc. Don't make them after the fact, make them before the fight. That way you cover your ass, either way. It's a win-win scenario.

    Yes, this is about Donaire.

they just don't want to give their opponent any sort of psychological advantage. If they know a fighter is injured or not at their best coming in, the opponent is going to go-for-broke. Probably happens a lot with in-camp spies and we just don't hear about it.

Oh yea, a fighter is gonna tell his opponent that he's not 100% and also all the ailments he's having before the fight

Honestly why are people overrating to the fact the be said he had the flu? He KOd his opponent and won. Golovkin also said he had the flu when he beat rosado's ass. How are they excuses when u win?

Cmon Russian. Donaire was losing to a guy he KTFO in 4 rds in the 1st fight. He needed a reason why he didn't perform as expected. This fight was designed to make Nonito look like the "old nonito" by showcasing his power and speed.

Instead, it made everyopne question if Nonito can ever get back to being elite.

Yea... how many fighters say they're hurt/sick before a fight and still go through with it? It's always after for that.
He might be lying or he might be telling the truth, but seriously....How many fighters will say that?
